Congratulations to Anthony Kholoshenko – 2025 Robert Erck Presentation Award Winner!

We are thrilled to share that Anthony Kholoshenko has been recognized with the Platinum Level Robert Erck Presentation Award at the 79th STLE Annual Meeting and Exhibition, held in Atlanta, Georgia from May 18 to 22, 2025, for his outstanding research poster.

Anthony’s award-winning poster, “Resolving Local Sliding and Stress to Study Tribofilm Growth In Situ,” introduced an innovative method to study tribocoatings, protective layers that form under shear stress, with high spatial resolution. While previous studies primarily focused on average tribofilm growth across the entire contact area, Anthony’s work uniquely resolved how local variations in stress and sliding exposure influence tribocoating formation. Using a mini traction machine (MTM) equipped with the spacer-layer imaging method (SLIM), his study provided new insights into the mechanics of room-temperature, stress-driven tribosintering.
