Daniel Delghandi wins Gold Award in the Student Poster Competition at STLE Annual Meeting

Undergraduate Research Assistant Daniel Delghandi attended the 77th Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Long Beach, CA, along with other members of the Carpick Research Group. Daniel presented a poster titled “Metal Oxide Tribofilms: Relating Antiwear Additive Synergy with Mechanical Properties”, for which he was awarded the top award in an evaluation against both undergraduate and graduate students. Daniel’s work is coauthored with Dr. Pranjal Nautiyal and Parker LaMascus (Carpick group) and Sage Fulco (Turner group, UPenn).

Daniel Delghandi stands besides his research poster. Daniel’s analysis combined research methods using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry, nanoindentation, mini-traction machine experiments, and white light interferometry.
