Dr. Danny Sánchez nominated for best poster at Materials Research Society conference

Postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Danny Sánchez, presented preliminary results from a collaborative project studying the mechanics of spontaneously folding two-dimensional materials at the 2022 Materials Research Society Fall Meeting. The poster, titled “Suspended, Self-tearing, and Strained Graphene Nanostructures Formed by Nanoindentation” elaborated on the types of structures that form in substrate supported graphene after indenting. The project is part of a broader effort between the University of Pennsylvania, Trinity College Dublin, and Queen’s University Belfast.
